Our family recently had the opporunity to enjoy a luxurious vacation at Hacienda de Mita.

Arriving at this gorgeous property was overwhelming. The beautifully appointed unit was perfect for our family of 6, with countless amenities and first class service. . . .

We spent much of our time in the outdoor living area, taking in the panoramic ocean views, lounging and relaxing with our kids. Susana, the full time housekeeper and cook treated us with amazing meals, delicious cocktails and was so pleasant with her warm, welcoming personality. We were steps away from the beautiful white sand beach and a handfull of swimming pools around the resort.

Our family enjoyed walking along the beach to many different restaurants in the quaint town of Punta Mita and also took advantage of a personal chef on occasion, who was also readily available upon request. As a busy mom, I was relieved of all of my usual responsibilities for 10 days … our kids called it their ‘best vacation ever’. We were so fortunate to meet a few other families during our stay and have made new friendships that will last a lifetime.

We have already booked our next vacation at Hacienda de Mita for the fall!

Our family of two adults and three teenage boys stayed at this luxurious property in April 2012.

Simply superb! We were greeted by the very nice and always responsive Rosina who showed us around the area.. . .

Then we entered the suite itself and were happy to see it’s size and beautiful ocean front view. Rosina, the housekeeper and cook made us fabulous guacamole and our day began. The property is well appointed with satellite, wireless internet, flat screen tv’s. It’s a great layout with a kitchen that overlooks the dining and sitting area, but most importantly looks right out at the ocean.

The outside patio is enormous with a second large table to eat at, a desk to work out and another large sitting area to relax at. My wife and I often sat outside enjoying the sound of the ocean and reading a remarkable library of books the owner has on the property. The beds are very comfortable and the pillows very soft!

Susana came by every morning to clean up and made us breakfast and lunch. Some evenings when we stayed home, she also made us dinner — her quesadilla, salsa and guacamole are the best! We stocked up on food and drinks from CostCo and the Mega SuperMarket that she used to cook our food. We’d call Rosina to arrange zip line tours, catamaran tours and generally get advice on where to go and what to do. She’d always answer the phone and her suggestions were always the right ones!

The location is fantastic. It’s a quick walk from the parked to your palace and the beach is literally steps away. The restaurant row of the small town of punta da mita is about a two minute walk away with lots of great choices to eat. We went over to the St. Regis club one day and felt our suite was nicer — close to the beach and the beach itself was nicer.

There is a great Sunday morning market at La Cruz (half an hour by car) where we negotiated on some nice silver jewelry, had some great food and bought freshly caught tuna and shrimps. There are absolutely no safety concerns, either at Punta Mita or in Puerto Vallarta.

The media coverage on the drug trade and danger is not fair and not applicable to this area. We knew our family was always safe and never worried.

Suggest you rent a small SUV to explore the area as there is lots to see and great beaches to lounge at, surf at and relax at!

Punta Mita itself is quiet in the evenings and simply a pleasure to visit. We will be back!
