Joel A. – July 2019 – Perfect Condo

46a-Surfing in front of HDM206

Let me start by saying the resort itself is spectacular, the grounds are kept clean and maintained daily. Security around the resort is great, only people that are supposed to be in the resort will be allowed to enter. We visited at the end of July during their rainy season. Luckily the only time it rained was over-night when we were sleeping./strong>

We stayed at the Hacienda Mita in Condo 206, which is right on the beach. There were 6 adults in our party and the condo worked out perfectly. Plenty of space for all of us, nicely decorated and the view from the balcony was stunning. Susanna (Chef) was amazing. She made our breakfast and lunch every day according to our schedule and the food was amazing (not to mention the juice she made as well). Having your clothes washed and ironed everyday was an added bonus. Each building in the Hacienda Mita had their own pool. We felt like we had the pool to ourselves. The beach clubs are very nice, especially the Kupuri beach club. One piece of advice, if you want to save a little money try to book directly with Mike (the owner) instead of the management company.

The location of the condo was ideal. It is a short five-minute golf cart ride into town or a 3-minute walk on the beach to restaurant row. Our morning walks consisted of either walking the paths around the resort or a walk into town for coffee. You really don’t need a car. Getting around the resort and into town in the golf cart is really easy. Of course, plenty of water activities are available throughout the resort and Punta Mita.

There is a nice variety of restaurants in town in terms of cuisine and price as well. All of the places we ate, including local coffee shops seem to use bottle water (no problems for us). There is a small grocery store (Mercado Ollin) that has enough of what you’ll need and is geared more toward tourist in case you forgot something or need to pick something up. If you are comfortable enough shopping in stores where the locals’ shop, you can save some money.

If I had to come up with a drawback, is that most of the places close around 11:00 pm in case you felt like getting a drink a little later.

Getting from the airport we used Jaltemba Transport. Gilberto and his team were great, very dependable and very nice people.

The condo at Punta de Mita is very nice and in a great location. Susanna is great with food preparation and very friendly. We gave her many rides to and from her home a great tip and a lot of leftover food and drinks. The property is beautiful and we felt very secure there.
